Kahoe played his first three years at Georgetown before transferring to Syracuse as a senior. Kahoe played well once joining the Orange, scoring nine goals and seven assists in 18 games and was a key member of the Syracuse team that won the 2009 NCAA Lacrosse Championship.

During his college career, Schongar played both as a long stick middie and a defenseman at Albany.
