March 18, 2016

Joint efforts with Granite Telecommunications to raise over $1,000,000 for Dana Farber Cancer Institute

BOSTON, MA (February 28, 2014)–  Front office members of the Boston Cannons are joining majority owner Rob Hale and Granite Telecommunications’ “Saving by Shaving” event on Monday, March 3 to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Granite, CEO Rob Hale, and Judy Hale are combining to donate $3,000 to Dana Farber for each Granite and Boston Cannons employee who has their head shaved on Monday.  Over 350 Granite and Cannons employees are signed up, bringing the overall donation to Dana Farber north of one million dollars.  The event will take place at 9:00am at the Granite offices in Quincy, MA.

“Cancer affects all families and our Granite family wants to raise money to beat it,” said Hale.  “A one person challenge quickly turned into an office-wide event that I am proud to support.”

Five members of the Cannons front office along with Cannons’ midfielder Martin Bowes have signed up to join Granite employees and have their heads shaved.

“When Rob told us what his employees at Granite were doing, my staff didn’t hesitate in joining on to help raise money for such a great cause,” said Cannons General Manager Kevin Barney.
