Cannons in the NLL - Week 10

March 18, 2016
With the second half of the NLL season underway, the playoff hunt is starting to heat up. The Philadelphia Wings and Minnesota Swarm are both near the top of their respective divisions. Even with a record of 2-6, the Buffalo Bandits are just 2.5 games out of first place in the East Division.

The Philadelphia Wings (5-4) have climbed to the top spot in the East. Pat Heim did not play in the Wings’ loss to the Rochester Knighthawks. Heim returned for the Wings’ matchup with the Toronto Rock. He recovered a loose ball and forced a turnover in a 12-10 victory.

The Buffalo Bandits dropped their last two games, extending the losing skid to six games. Kevin Buchanan has posted 2 goals, 2 assists and 16 loose balls in the stretch.

The Minnesota Swarm topped Calgary in a battle of two West Division powers. The Swarm is now 5-3 on the season, behind Calgary (7-3) and Colorado (8-3). Mitch Belisle recovered 2 loose balls and forced a turnover in the victory against the Roughnecks.

All three teams will take the field this weekend. The Bandits will visit the Rock on Friday at 7:30 pm, in an attempt to snap their six-game losing streak. On Saturday at 7:00 pm, the Wings will host the Edmonton Rush. Then, at 7:30 pm the Bandits and Kevin Buchanan will host the Swarm and Mitch Belisle. As always, games can be seen live at
