Cannons Lacrosse Academy 2012 Dates

March 18, 2016

Cannons Coaches & Players Will Host One Overnight Camp, featuring Paul Rabil,
and Five Day Camps In New England This Summer

BOSTON, MA – February 22, 2011–The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, have announced the 2012 Cannons Lacrosse Academy program, which will be held in six locations throughout New England this summer. Registration has begun at the Cannons Lacrosse Academy website or by calling the Cannons office at 617-746-9933.

Cannons Lacrosse Academy is the Boston Cannons’ annual summer youth lacrosse teaching camp series, now in its 12 th year.  Boston Cannons head coach and Cannons Academy director Steve Duffy brings in the best professional coaches and players to teach each camp, providing customized instruction for players ages 8-17 of all skill levels, from the beginner to players looking to become the next MLL All-Star.

“With the Cannons Lacrosse Academy, we bring the best coaches and players in the professional lacrosse world to teach New England youth,” said Cannons General Manager Kevin Barney. “It’s about having fun, taking each player’s skills to the next level, and continuing to grow lacrosse in the area.”

The Cannons Lacrosse Academy’s overnight camp will take place at The Loomis Chaffee School, a new location in Windsor, Connecticut. Featuring 2011 MLL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year Paul Rabil on opening day, the overnight camp creates a complete, intensive training program for each camper, based on his level of skill and experience. The overnight camp is available to players aged 9-17. Extended day campers will be provided with lunch and dinner.

At the five day camp locations, campers work on individual techniques and skills during the morning session, with team concepts, small space games and full field games in the afternoon. Cannons Lacrosse Academy returns to Cape Elizabeth, Maine; Londonderry, NH; and Narragansett, RI; with two new Massachusetts locations in Waltham and at the Middlesex School in Concord.

Each camper receives a Cannons reversible pinnie and a free ticket to a Cannons home game with registration. Giveaways will be awarded to players of the day and the Cascade Players of the Week.
