Groups will practice drills based on applying skills and fundamentals to live team play. These will include man-up and man-down situations, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 and other play scenarios. Team practice will allow teams to play together, work on plays and go over team offense, defense, transition and clears.
Campers will be placed on teams after the first day of camp based on age and skill level. They will remain with their team for the duration of camp. During the evening session, campers will play two full field scrimmages against other teams in their age group.
The final session of camp (9-11:30am) will consist of tournament-style play. Following championship play, all campers will meet for a closing ceremony with final words and awards from coaches. Parents will be notified prior to Thursday morning what time their child's team will be playing and are invited to watch.
Campers will have free time during lunch and dinner periods. During this time, there will be picnic games set up on the quad outside of dorms for campers to use, and coaches will be on the field for those who wish to throw and shoot around. All campers will have access to common rooms in the dorms. All areas will be staffed at all times.
Cannons Academy Camp Store will be available to campers throughout the week. Parents will be able to leave money in an account during registration that will be available to campers for the rest of the week. The store will offer a variety of food and drinks, Cannons gear, as well as pizza which will be available to campers after the final session of each day.
Prizes will be given daily to “Campers of the Day” and will be awarded at the end of the week to “Cascade Campers of the Week” in each of the two age groups. Prizes include Cannons Cascade Pro-7 helmets, Warrior and Brine heads, t-shirts, hats and more.
