Christopher Mattes, Midfield/Face-Off

Chris was born on May 12, 1988 and is from Westfield, New Jersey.  Chris is a face-off specialist and saw action in one game for the Cannons in 2011, a 10-9 victory over the Denver Outlaws. Denver then picked him up for the 2012 season. At Rutgers, he earned Honorable Mention All-America honors as a senior. A First-Team All Big East honoree, Mattes led the conference with a .635 winning percentage on face-offs (160-252) during his senior season. He led Rutgers with 61 ground balls and scored one goal with four assists during his final season with the Scarlet Knights. Mattes was the Cannons first round pick, number 6 overall.

 

Tom Celentani, Defense

From Levittown, NY, Tom was born on December 6, 1989 and played defense for the University of Massachusetts Minutemen. Tom was a three-year starter who finished his career playing 44 games in a row on close defense. During his senior year, he recorded a goal and an assist on the season with 32 groundballs and 24 caused turnovers. These totals were fourth on the team in groundballs and first in caused turnovers. Tom had a streak in 14 of 16 games recording a groundball. He was named to the 2012 Scholar All-American Team. Tom was picked 2nd round, 14th overall.

 

Mike Gabel, Goalie

Mike was born on October 23, 1981 and is 6’ 4” and 205 pounds. Gabel played college lacrosse at the University of Vermont where he was a four-year starter and two-year captain. He was named First Team All-America East and team Defensive MVP, and left Vermont with career and single season records for goals against average. Mike was acquired by the Chicago Machine in the 2006 Supplemental Draft (5th round, 42nd pick). Mike went to the Chesapeake Bayhawks through a trade in the middle of the 2012 season.  During the 2012 season Mike played in three games for the Rochester and had a .700 save percentage only allowing a total of 15 goals. Mike was picked 3rd round, number 22 overall.

 

Scott LaRue, Midfield

Scott was born on February 21, 1989, and is from Crofton, Maryland. He graduated with a degree in communication from the University of Maryland.  Scott is a midfielder who is 6’ 180 pounds. During his senior year at Maryland he returned to full-time action in the 20-8 win over No. 14 Georgetown (after recovering from an injury), finishing with one assist and three groundballs and helped hold the Hoyas scoreless for 20:12 during the game. In 2012, Scott played in six games for the Rochester Rattlers where he scooped two ground balls. Scott was picked in the 5th round and 38 overall.

 

Jeff Brown, Defense

Jeff was born on December 31, 1988 and is from Cohasset, Massachusetts. He is 6’ 4” tall, weighing in at close to 210 pounds. Jeff played defense for Denver University for all four seasons. He saw playing time in 45 games over his four-year career and finished with 37 groundballs and caused a total of 27 turnovers which is tied for third all-time in DU's Division I career record books.  Jeff is a member of the first class to make a Final Four appearance in the NCAA Tournament. He was picked in the 6th round, 46th overall.

 

 

Jeff Cohen, Attack

Jeff was born on June 24, 1990 in Syosset, New York, and is 6’, 190 pounds. Jeff played attack for four years at Harvard University. During his senior season, Jeff ranked first in school history with 142 career goals and stands tied for sixth with 167 career points (142-25-167). His 48 goals as a senior are seventh most in a single season in school history. Jeff led Harvard and the Ivy League with 48 goals and 56 points which ranked second in the country with 3.43 goals per game. Jeff tallied eight man-up goals and recorded 10 hat tricks. He was honored on USILA All-America honorable mention team and named to All-Ivy League first team and NEILA All-New England first team. Jeff was a part of the NEILA Senior Scholar-Athlete team and selected to USILA North-South All-Star Game. Jeff got picked 7th round/number 54 overall.
 

Craig Bunker, Midfield/Face-Off

Craig was born on January 14, 1989 and is a 5’ 9” midfielder/face-off specialist from Topsfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Colby College in 2011 and was acquired by the Rochester Rattlers in the 2012 MLL Supplemental Draft (Round 14 - 107th Overall). Craig was a two-year captain and the first Colby player ever to earn three All-American honors and the first player in program history to make first team All-America (2011). Craig earned NESCAC First Team honors for three straight years and was also All-New England First Team. He ranked fourth in the country in face-off percentage (.714, 205-for-287) and had 123 groundballs to go along with one goal. He finished his college career with a .659 face-off percentage (689-of-1045), 412 groundballs, seven goals, and eight assists in 61 games. He was picked in the 8th round, 62nd overall.
 

Timothy Langmaid, Defense

Tim is from Danvers, Massachusetts and was born on July 16, 1987. He is the fifth-year member of the Delaware Blue Hens. He was the anchor of the defense that was ranked one of the best in the Colonial Athletic Association. Tim is an athlete who can create transition offense from the defensive end. He appeared in 47 career games with 34 starts and has contributed two goals, 62 groundballs, and 33 caused turnovers during his career which ranks No. 3 on the all-time UD caused turnovers list.  Tim was picked 10th round and 78th overall.


 

Frank Tufano, Defense     

Frank is from Hauppauge, New York and played defense for Drexel. In 2011, he was First Team All-CAA selection on defense after moving from long pole. Frank started every game and scored a goal against Lafayette, the second of his career. He led the team with 48 ground balls and picked up five or more ground balls five times. Frank had a season-high seven ground balls against both Bryant and Lafayette. He also led the team with 25 caused turnovers. Frank was picked in the 11th round, number 86 overall.
