Here, we asked the Rhode Island native (more than) a few questions.
When did you start playing lacrosse?
I started playing lacrosse in the 4th grade. After a questionable beginning as the only male in my 1st grade gymnastics class and my last runner up medal in my elementary school class spelling bee, my parents and I thought it might be time to hit the refresh button and start a new hobby.
How do you prepare before a game?
Before games I try to stay loose. I listen to music and get all riled up with the boys prior but try not to over think what I have to do. I know that I play best when I am relaxed and can play my game without over analyzing my job on the field too much.
Secret talent that no one knows about you?
Since my freshman year in college I have become an avid dancer. Whether it's staying in on a Friday night alone in my apartment until the early hours of the morning or out and about with my friends, I enjoy interpreting the music then getting my body grooving. It has severely hurt many of my chances meeting significant others, but it's worth the laugh and the good time. I also just recently picked up playing the piano. I have to write a list of the songs I know down or else I forget them. My repertoire ranges from "Quit playing games with my heart" by the Backstreet Boys to Fur Elise by Beethoven.
Which reality show would you appear on and why?
I've put a lot of thought into what reality TV show I should be on/apply to. I actually sat down and talked to some potential people about doing a reality TV show last summer in Newport, RI but things never worked out. I'm a big "Bachelor" fan; wouldn't mind being in a situation like that. "Dancing at Some Bars," a spinoff of Dancing With the Stars, I think I could excel at. I would love any opportunity to be on any reality TV show though, think I could get really into it.
What song is on your iPod that you want no one to know about?
I take a lot of pride in the music I listen to and like to think I have great taste in music. One song that I was really into my sophomore year at Cornell was "Popozao" by Kevin Federline (Britney Spears' ex-husband). Most people get after me that I have that song on my iPod until they listen, and then they make fun of me even more.
Did you play any other sports growing up?
Growing up I played baseball, basketball, soccer, was on the swim and dive team, and played lacrosse. After I got hit in the head with a baseball and was left unconscious I realized that I might wanna shift gears. I was put on the "All Star" team that year though because I was in need of a serious pick me up after an embarrassing outting to the regular season. I joined the swim team after my head injury because I wasn't suppose to play any contact sports for six months. Once I was shown the "getup" that I had to wear for team races I knew it was going to be a one summer ordeal. My senior year in high school I played basketball and we made shirts before that season that said, "Losing is not an option." We went on to go defeated that year at 0-17. Apparently losing really wasn't an option.
Best advice I have ever received?
No matter what you are doing, have fun.
Cat or dog?
Has anyone ever answered this question "Cat"? Dogs all day.
