Mayor to Declare “Boston Cannons Day” in Honor of the City’s Latest Championship
Wednesday, September 7 – Boston, MA - On Monday, September 12 at 3:30 PM, Mayor Menino will honor the Boston Cannons for winning their first Major League Lacrosse Championship in the team’s 11-year history. Media and Cannons fans are invited to attend the ceremony at City Hall Plaza.
“As has been proven over the last decade, Boston is the best sports town in the country,” said Mayor Menino. “I look forward to congratulating the latest team to add a championship to the city’s trophy case, the Boston Cannons.”
“We are honored by the invitation from Mayor Menino and the declaration of Boston Cannons Day,” said Cannons general manager Kevin Barney. “The outpouring of support from our fans and the city has been amazing, and we look forward to continuing the celebration.”
