BOSTON CANNONS ANNOUNCE NEW YOUTH PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM FOR THE 2013 SEASON
50 Youth Programs will be able to form official partnership
October 24, 2012 - BOSTON, MA - The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today a new program for youth lacrosse organizations for the 2013 season, according to Cannons General Manager Kevin Barney. The Cannons Youth Partnership Program is a season long relationship between the professional team and youth programs looking to grow the game.
"Youth lacrosse is a major focus of our business from grass roots marketing, ticket sales, camps and clinics. We wanted to develop a program that recognizes the organizations who are true partners of ours," said Barney. "Numerous programs already have Cannons Season Tickets and bring large groups out to games during the season. This partnership delivers the opportunity for programs to send coaches, volunteers and families to Cannons games throughout the season, while also providing education, fundraising, volunteer retention and community events to help the programs continue to grow."
The Youth Partnership Program has elements designed to entertain and reward the youth lacrosse community. Every partner will have 4 Cannons Season Tickets, allowing them to send members of their program to every Cannons home game in 2013. They will receive admission to special Coach Education Events including access to a Cannons practice and an invitation for 4 coaches to attend a pre-game Q&A session with the Cannons coaches. At the final home game of the regular season each program will have the ability to send a representative to be on the field for a Youth Partnership Program Recognition Ceremony.
The Cannons are creating a special page on their website where all the Youth Partner Programs will be listed along with hyperlinks to their own program websites. This page will also include pictures and videos from the Coach Education Events and the Youth Partnership Recognition Ceremony.
Each program will receive a Cannons raffle pack that can be used for fundraising or volunteer appreciation. The programs designated "Cannons Liaison" will receive a Cannons merchandise item to help identify them as the main link between the youth program and the Cannons.
"This is the first step of what we feel will be a longstanding partnership program with the youth lacrosse community. We will look to expand on the benefits and rewards of this program in future years," said Barney. "The goal in this first year is to identify some of our top partner programs and provide them with immediate benefits and a program we can build on."
The Youth Partnership Program will be limited to 50 youth programs for the 2013 Season with the investment starting at only $488. Along with the above mentioned benefits, partner programs will also receive priority access to Youth Games, Meet & Greets, and Dream Teams at Cannons home games. A special Cannons Youth Partnership Program logo is being developed that each youth program will be able to display on their websites identifying them as official partners of the Cannons.
