Poskay had a record-breaking year in 2010, setting the Cannons single season scoring record with 45 goals and in doing so became the Cannons all-time leading scorer with 140 tallies and counting. Rabil continued his dominant play for the Cannons and the US National Team in 2010. Along with his 21 goals in 10 games for the Cannons, Rabil led Team USA to the gold medal in the 2010 FIL World Championships and was named tournament MVP.
The Cannons roster also boasts local stars Max Quinzani, Mike Stone, J.J. Morrissey and Matt Smalley. Quinzani is a Duxbury, MA product who led Duxbury High School to three state championships and most recently captured the NCAA Championship with Duke University. Stone was a star at Wellesley High School and 3-time USILA All-American at Middlebury College. Morrissey was drafted by the Cannons in last month’s Supplemental Draft. The Winchester, MA native played his high school lacrosse at The Governor’s Academy and went on to play at the University of Virginia. Smalley, from Cumberland, RI, was a late round supplemental draft pick of the Cannons last year. He proved his worth early on as a strong wing man during face-offs and appeared in 10 games last season, finishing 2nd on the team with 41 ground balls.
Each Cannons home game will include an event or community theme. “The Cannons have always been committed to helping our community and the growth of the sport of lacrosse,” said Cannons Vice President and General Manager Mark Kastrud. “This season, each game will provide the Cannons and our fans a way to give back to the community.”
