Paul Rabil, Matt Poskay Lead Scoring to Power Cannons Offense 


June 18, 2011 - ROCHESTER, NY: The Boston Cannons improved to 4-1 with a 16-14 win over the Rochester Rattlers (0-4) at Sahlen Stadium in the team's first stop in a four game road trip. Paul Rabil was named the Bud Light Player of the Game for his six-point performance on four goals and two assists. Matt Poskay, the 2010 Major League Lacrosse MVP, added a season-high five goals. The Cannons are tied for first in the League with the Denver Outlaws.

The Cannons led 5-2 after the first quarter, but the Rattlers gained control and took an 8-6 lead into the half. The Cannons battled back, scoring seven in the third quarter while holding the Rattlers to two. The fourth quarter remained a battle, with the Rattlers tying it at 14 on a two-point shot from Matt Streibel with less than six minutes in the game. Max Quinzani answered with his third goal of the game, and Pat Heim added a tally to secure the win. Heim finished with two goals and three assists for five points.  


The Boston Cannons travel to Annapolis to face the Chesapeake Bayhawks next Saturday, June 25 at 7:00 PM. The next game at Harvard Stadium will be the 2011 Sports Authority Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game on July 9 th at 7:00 PM EST.
