Cannons in the NLL - Week 14

March 18, 2016
As the National Lacrosse League regular season winds down, teams have begun to clinch playoff spots. Toronto, Philadelphia, Calgary and Colorado have all punched their tickets for the postseason. With only a few games left, Mitch Belisle and Kevin Buchanan look to take their respective teams to the playoffs as well.

Pat Heim and the Philadelphia Wings hosted the Minnesota Swarm on Friday night. Heim’s three assists kept the game close until late in the fourth quarter. The Swarm pulled away, scoring the final four goals of the game on its way to a 13-9 victory. Belisle recovered five loose balls for the Swarm.

On Saturday the Wings traveled to Buffalo. The Bandits took advantage of the Wings’ fatigue, jumping out to a 6-2 lead in the first quarter. Thanks to Buchanan’s four points (one goal, three assists), the Bandits never looked back, dropping the Wings 17-7.

The Swarm (6-7) and Bandits (5-8) will continue their hunt for a playoff spot next week. The Swarm hosts the Stealth on Saturday at 8:00 pm. The Bandits visit the Rush at 9:00 pm. Watch Belisle and Buchanan live at as they fight for spots in the NLL postseason.
