March 18, 2016
In the 2013 National League Lacrosse (NLL) Draft on Tuesday, Boston Cannons midfielder Cameron Flint was drafted in the first round, 4 th overall, by the Minnesota Swarm. Flint will join a Swarm team that went 9-7 overall and went to the semifinals of the playoffs, losing to the Edmonton Rush, 15-3.

Flint was 4 th out of 55 total players drafted in the 2013 Draft and the Flint was 3 rd of four picks the Swarm had in the first round alone. They also picked up Logan Schuss (Round 1, 1 st Overall), Jason Noble (Round 1, 2 nd Overall), Scott Jones (Round 1, 7 th Overall). Minnesota was able to take Flint 4th overall due to Edmonton Rush trading that pick to the Swarm in exchange for the 5th overall selection and defenseman Nik Bilic.

Flint's collegiate career included the midfielder being named USILA First Team All-American, becoming the first University of Denver player to earn such an honor; ECAC First Team selection; USILA All-America Honorable Mention in 2012; and Preseason Division I All-American Honorable Mention in 2012.

Drafted by the Boston Cannons in the 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft [1st round (6th overall)], Flint played in seven games for the Cannons, earning Rookie of the Week for his performance on June 29 th scoring 4 goals and dishing 1 assist. Flint completed his first season with eight goals and nine assists.

The NLL is a men's professional indoor lacrosse league in North America and currently has nine teams (four in Canada and five in the United States). Unlike the MLL which play in the summer, the NLL plays its games in the winter and spring. Every year, the playoff teams battle for the Champion's Cup.
