Everyone is an expert when March Madness comes around, and Cannons players and coaches are no different. We asked for their thoughts on who would be cutting down the nets and for any sleeper picks. Here is what they had to say:
JORDAN BURKE, Goalie -- I think UNC is going to take it. They just got better each game as the season wore on and Roy Williams is a great tournament coach. I like Long Beach State to make some noise. Not sure if they will make it all the way to the final four, but I wouldn't be shocked to see them in the Elite 8.
JASON DUBOE, Midfielder -- Winning it all: UNC. Potential Cinderella story - gotta go with the Alma Mater Harvard to make a run in their first appearance since '46!
MITCH "Mr. Luxurious" BELISLE, Defense/Co-Captain -- Xavier will be the champs, because you can't spell LuXurious without a big 'ol X. Cinderella favorite? Harvard - Linsanity spills over!
KEVIN GOULD, Attack -- THE Ohio State will win it all. Buck told me he will be running point guard!
JIMMY DAILEY, Attack -- Going with the Heels from UNC on this one.
STEVE DUFFY, Head Coach -- Missouri, I watched the Pressey boys play for Waltham High School when they lived in Massachusetts. Upset pick -- #12 seed Harvard!
PT RICCI, Defense -- Missouri is my pick to win it all. Tough to handle the four guard offense. My pick for the Cinderella is my alma mater #15 Loyola over Ohio State! Just kidding, they're going to get killed. But the real sleepers who may pull off a run are Belmont, New Mexico State, and my favorite to do some serious damage, Long Beach State.
DJ HESSLER, Attack -- Picking UNC.
ARI SUSSMAN, Attack -- Going with UNC to win it all! And watch out for Long Beach St as my upset pick!
KEVIN BARNEY, General Manager -- even without Fab Melo I am going with Jim Boeheim and Syracuse to be cutting down the nets in New Orleans! Looking for VCU and Shaka Smart to make another run.
ETHAN VEDDER, Midfield -- Michigan State champs. I don't think they'll make the final four, but I'm rooting for Belmont only because I have friends who work in the town of Belmont. Wrong state, right town, cheer local right?
ERIC HAGARTY, Goalie -- Missouri wins the whole thing with VCU as the Cinderella for the second year in a row.
SEAN MURPHY, Midfield -- NCAA Champs: Kentucky, just too much talent & good coaching. Cinderella: LONG BEACH STATE!
