March 18, 2016
Like any workplace, conversation in the Boston Cannons front office often turns to sports. Lucky for us, it doesn’t have to be relegated to the water cooler – we are a professional sports team, after all.
This week, we started debating the best sports movies of all time. Thought it’s impossible to get people to agree on this subject, here’s our compilation of ten can’t-miss sports flicks.
Check out our facebook page for a contest involving 3 of our players and their favorite sports movie!   One of our facebook friends will win a Cannons prize pack!  CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE CANNONS FACEBOOK PAGE.
And now, 10 of our favorite sports movies of all time.....
“I figured it’s time for me to start playing ball again.” Enough said.
Field of Dreams
If you build it, he will come. Words to live by.
Explanation unnecessary - a given on any sports movie countdown. Has any other sack ever made you cry like a baby?
It may be hockey, but there are a million parallels to the first decade of Major League Lacrosse.
The Sandlot
Everyone relates to that one perfect summer with friends. Not to mention the best step-by-step instructions for creating the perfect S’More. And The Jet’s killer ‘stache as a big leaguer.
Major League
Bob Uecker has the best one-liners ever, applicable to so many live sports moments. And who doesn’t get pumped with “Wild Things” blasting?
Two words: Big Ern!
The Mighty Ducks
Not just the original, but the entire trilogy. Quack, quack, quack, Quack, Quack!
Rocky IV
Though each Rocky movie has it’s own merit, Rocky Balboa singlehandedly ending the Cold War lands the fourth installment safely on this list.
Cool Runnings
We feel the rhythm. We feel the rhyme. We’ll get on up – it’s bobsled time!
