Video: Boomer's Big Dunk at the TD Garden

March 18, 2016
Boomer met up with some of his mascot friends from around New England on Friday night at the TD Garden as the Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards.

Lucky invited Boomer along with Blades, Pat Patriot and Slyde of the Bruins, Patriots and Revolution, respectively. With only one more home game remaining this year, Lucky had his friends down to the Garden to give him a hand. The mascots helped Lucky with his normal duties of leading contests, tossing t-shirts and generally entertaining the fans.

The highlight of the night came between the third and fourth quarters when all of the mascots were showing off their slam dunk skills (or lack thereof - sorry Pat). For Lucky's grand finale, Boomer placed the ball on the top of his barrel before Lucky flew through the air, grabbed the ball while doing a flip and slammed it home. Check out the video below for an up-close look.

“I had a great time hanging out with all my mascot buddies,” said Boomer after the game. “I may not be able to run as fast or jump as high as the rest of them, but I think Lucky and I make a great alley-oop team. We give Rondo and KG a run for their money.”

During the t-shirt toss, Boomer used his lacrosse stick to fire some t-shirts into the crowd to lucky fans. Boomer also helped with a few competitions, including a bike race and a burrito give away. Before the game, Boomer and the rest of the mascots walked around the Garden, meeting with fans and snapping some pictures.
